About Lawyer
Meet Rahima Shariff
Rahima Shariff obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the Tumaini University in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She ranked overall top student with Upper Second Division earning the highest GPA among all graduating faculties.
After moving to Canada in early 2014, Rahima pursued to complete her Canadian lawyer’s equivalency examination while working as a family law Legal Assistant under a well experienced Divorce and Family Law lawyer. Upon successful completion of the National Committee on Accreditation examination, Rahima completed her composite articles with Calgary based law firms which offered her vast exposure in family law, personal injury and wills and estate administration. Rahima was called to Alberta Bar in 2017.
Rahima has a passion for family law. Since being called to the Bar, Rahima has practiced exclusively in the area of family law. She worked as an associate with a family law firm for 2 years before starting her own practice as Shariff Family Law in 2019. Rahima has appeared in both Alberta Court of Justice (formerly Provincial Court of Alberta) and in the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta. She is a strong and passionate advocate who works tirelessly in the best interest of her clients both in and out of the courtroom in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Rahima is an IMI (International Mediation Institute) qualified Mediator. She is trained in Mediation of Family and Divorce Conflicts and in Family Violence & Danger Assessment. Rahima is a strong advocate for resolving matters through various alternative dispute resolution processes whenever possible.

To accommodate client’s of different ethnicity, Rahima is fluent or partly fluent with the following languages: English, Swahili, Gujarati, Katchi, Hindi, and Urdu.
